What Should I Expect After Treatment?
Immediately after treatment, you can expect a mild sunburn-like sensation, possibly accompanied by some minor swelling. This usually lasts 2 to 24 hours and can be soothed with cold gel or ice packs. In addition to creating permanent reduction of skin imperfections, studies have shown that Intense Pulsed Light heats the dermis to above 65 degrees Celsius, which activates the skin to produce a wrinkle-filling material called collagen over the course of 5-12 weeks. Your skin will look and feel smoother and silkier after every treatment.
- Sunspots/Sun Damage: Suspots will darken after treatment and be natually shed from the skin within 1 to 2 weeks.
- Rosacea: Skin tone will be more normal, with less pronounced redness within a week after treatment.
- Spider Veins: Vessels may disappear after treatment or they may appear darker and then fully or partially fade within 10 to 14 days
